FINALE Task 23

Task 23: FINALE

Wow, I've reached the last task. This experience has been much of a rollercoaster ride for me. I've learnt with these execrises. There are a sites which I will continue to use ie. Podcasts, wiki, also google docs which I will defintely use to my full advantage. Youtube.com which is my new found favourite site. Using online generator websites gives me more ideas especially for creating posters and graphics to make things a bit more exciting.

Learning web 2.0 programme has helped me gainned more confidence, and also expands my understanding the different ways for sourcing information and also making it a fun experience.

Woo Hoo I've crossed the finish Line!!!

ACL Learning 2.0 Task 22

Task 22: E-books

Thanks goodness I have a ACL account to access this. I did a search on samoan letters and it brought up Robert Louis Stevenson and his works ie: Vailima Letters, Eight years of trouble in Samoa. I don't use this tool much. But now I know, and in doing this search it brings back my memories of my childhood when I visited is grave up in Vailima where Robert Louis Steveson rests. His house is still standing and there is also a school named after him.
Another thing to note with the E-books, you can't not copy and paste or edit the material due to copy right.

ACL learning 2.0: Task 21

Task 21: Podcasts

Podcasts are great! I've gone back into my RSS Feeds and added podcasts to my lists. I went searching for Samoan podcasts and I found them. There is so much variety from Learning Japanese to Christian Music and also a werid one was Nerds for fun. I honestly don't enough time on my hands to go through them. So when I do get home and I'm doing work. I can tune into my podcasts of my choice! Hooray!!!

ACL Learning 2.0 Task 20

Task 20: youtube

I can stay on this site forever! A great way of accessing clips of your old and new entertaiment depending on your taste. It caters for all! I've discovered a few clips on traditional samoan siva (dance). You also have the option of uploading your own video clips as well.

ACL Learning 2.0 - Online Applications & Tools

Task 19: Discovering Web 2.0 tools

Okay. I had a look at the nominees. I searched through books and discovered lulu which is a site that gives you the opportunity to publish your own material and make a bit of profit. So bascially you're be cutting out the middle person. Another site was www.biblio.com. That is another site for book searching and market place, and the third was www.librarything.com which I've used from the previous learning 2.0 task.

Task 18: Take a look at some online productivity (word processing, spreadsheet) tools.

Just discover this. I wish I knew about this before. I love that I can save my docouments and have access to them online. Especially if your computer crashes or if you quickly need access to it away from home. It makes this very easy. There's also other tools like calendars, and saving photos. Knowing about this makes life easier for me.
I've logged on and added my spreadsheets that I use for my church community and also keeping minutes for meetings.

ACL 2.0 Learning task 16 & 17

Task 17: Learning 2.0 Sand box Wiki

I logged in and add my favourite holiday destination Samoa and recommended some websites that you may visit and find more information. In my spare time I plan to go back and add more of my recommendations.

Task 16: Wikis

I find that Wiki is a great tool for searching.I have done a few searches under country history and family history and amazed with the results. Another good tool is the fact that you can edit the relevant information, but keeping in mind, you have to research the source so that you know that it is true information.
Wiki is a great place to confirm information if you're not sure. Especially with updated current events.

ACL web 2.0 Task 13 - 15

Task 15: On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0 ...

I've read a few of the recommended Blogs. I agree that information nowerdays is expanding so fast that we have to use it and in order to expand our capacity of learning, we need to invest in programmes for us to be up to scratch to so our source of information is current.

Task 14: Technorati

I did a search on Technorati for Learning 2.0. There are a lot of people blogging about it. I spent my time browsing through and reading other peoples views and also sharing their difficulties in issues similar to mine. I looked at the popular searches and once again, Bebo, myspace.youtube including Paris Hilton (who I think is a waste of space on there lol)... have pulled through. I'm not surprised!

Task 13: del.icio.us

This is another way of cutting your search time into half. It basically is bookmarking and you're find on other websites for example blogs, wikis, newspaper websites have these. I've saved a few onto my account. I would defintely recommend this to someone if they ask. I aslo came across one the popular sites 39 Addictions - Designers Just Can’t Stop which seems interesting,
